The end of a marriage does not mean the end of financial responsibilities, especially when children are involved. Without proper legal representation, an ex- spouse may find himself/herself with minimal support for their family. Or, a spouse may be ordered to pay child support that is significantly more than he/she is able to pay. Don’t let poor representation ruin you financially. The attorneys at Hall & Navarro will fight hard to make sure the court understands your financial needs and abilities when determining child support levels for your children.
Choosing the right lawyer for your child support case.
In Georgia, both parents are required to support their children until a child reaches the age of 18, graduates from high school, marries, dies, is emancipated or joins the military. Additionally, support may be required past the age of 18 as well, such as in the case of a child who is still in high school. Child support is paid by the non-custodial parent to the custodial parent for the child’s living expenses, health insurance, medical and dental expenses, and more. Hall & Navarro is here to provide legal counsel to you and your family so that you get a fair trial and outcome for your child support case.
If you are a father in Georgia looking to obtain legal rights, you have to legitimize your child. If you were not married to your child’s mother when the child was born, without legitimation you have no rights to the child in Georgia. Depending on the situation, the legitimation process may be involved and require several steps to be fulfilled. Legitimation has more benefits than just protecting a father’s rights with his child. It allows for the child to receive financial support from their father, and the child may be eligible for social security benefits from their father. That is why it is so important to have an experienced legitimation lawyer to help make sure your rights, and your child’s rights are protected.
Are you seeking to legitimize your child , or seeking contest to legitimation petition?

Our lawyers have extensive knowledge of the legal system in Georgia, and how it pertains to legitimation and paternity. A guardian ad litem is a legal guardian appointed by a court to advise the court in a non-partisan manner of the best interests for any minor children. They are often used in child custody, visitation rights and parenting cases. In proceedings involving minor children, either parent can request the use of a guardian ad litem or the court can appoint one on its own motion. At Hall & Navarro our lawyers in Effingham and Bulloch Counties provide the necessary services to adults and minor children that are in need of having their rights and well-being protected.
Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for resolving disputes between two or more parties. A mediator is a neutral third party whose job is to assist parties in negotiating their own settlement to a given dispute. Unlike arbitration, the outcome of mediation is determined by agreement of the parties. The mediator is in charge of the process, but the parties determine the content of what will be mediated. Mediation has a structure, timetable and dynamics that “ordinary” negotiation lacks. The process is private and confidential. The presence of a mediator is the key distinguishing feature of the process. There may be no obligation to go to mediation. Any settlement agreement signed by the parties to a dispute is binding. Different mediation rules and processes apply to different jurisdictions, and this is why it is important to have experienced representation.
